Lingerie Fashion Shows

Susette Browne asked:

Lingerie fashion shows are an excellent way to discover what is available. They display the latest designs of day along with the latest fabrics and colors being used . The shows are exciting with lights, sounds and very attractive models. They may include both men and women modeling the fashions.

Famous stores like Victoria Secret and Fredricks of Hollywood, or just a single designer put them on to advertise what they have to sell to the public. Some clubs like Playboy put on lingerie shows to attract party goers, or magazines like Hustler Magazine use these occasions to just advertise their business.

How ever you feel about such occasions and events, they are a part of todays culture and fashion. These settings bring the spotlight on the world of lingerie. They also provide work for models, and some of the top fashion models of today participate in them while earning top dollars and really big bucks.

So if you are considering the worlds of lingerie, thinking of learning more about them, or just want to see the latest designs, go see one of the lingerie shows.

Lingerie fashion shows are held in the outside world as a big event. Personally, going to these fashion shows gives you an idea as to how lingerie has changed in a big way. I once view a lingerie fashion show while I was on holiday in Canada and I was very amaze as to what I saw.

This was a show where both sexes walk the catwalk in style and the show was well appreciate because it is all about the changes in the new society.

Gail Leino asked:

The Barbie doll, which will be 50 years old in 2009, has what seems to be an infinite number of lines, including American Idol Barbie, Barbie Magic of Pegasus, and Happy Birthday Barbie. It’s incredible to believe that Ruth Handler created the doll in the early 1950s simply to satisfy her daughter’s desire to play with an adult-looking doll as opposed to a baby. Her husband and Mattel, his employer at the time, did not initially like the idea, but after Handler’s redesign of a German doll, introduced it at a New York City toy fair in 1959. Today, Mattel sells 1.5 million Barbie dolls each week. With the remarkable popularity of Barbie, a party themed after her can be a great afternoon shindig for a young girl.

A Barbie theme party is actually very common. If your daughter wants to have a Barbie party with her friends, but wants to do something unique, an afternoon tea party and fashion show is an idea. The tea party doesn’t have to be extravagant. Whether you use real dishes or not is up to you. However, you might not want to use your best china if the girls are very young. There are plenty of inexpensive tea sets on the market. Your daughter could play host and serve her guests or you could do the honors. Instead of cake and cookies, offering the guests scones, which are perfect with tea, or some other light confection is a good plan. Check with parents to see if there are any special diets that you need to take into consideration.

Young girls (and many grown up ones), love to dress up. The Barbie tea party and fashion show invitations should request that each girl dress up and bring their favorite Barbie. The highlight of the party will be the fashion show. There are two ways to do this. Each girl can describe their own wardrobe and accessories along with what their Barbie is wearing, or you could write something up fun and humorous while the girls are drinking tea and eating. Either way, the girls are sure to have a smashing good time!

Gaurav Doshi asked:

The attraction of licensing trademarks for business intentions appears to be at an all-time high, mostly in the fashion arena where consumers are buying more licensed products and brand names than ever before. For retailers, licensing opportunities provide them with a point of difference from their competitors.

Licensing is leasing a legally protected property (like trademarked or copyrighted name, logo, likeness, character, phrase or design) to another party in combination with a product, service or promotion. It is a process which lays stress on consumer management, development of brand equity in line with international imagery, providing right shopping ambience and perhaps is less about manufacturing. Licensing is a way of growing with an already established brand. It provides the brand recall benefits, which are not achievable in case one comes out with a brand new image.

There are many types of licensing business like art & design, corporate brands, events, fashion brands, food & drink, institutional, magazine brands, music, personalities, sports and television licensing to name a few.

The advantages of licensing for licensors

The main advantage for a licensor is the facility to use and develop its brand or property.
Licensing can achieve this by:

. Improving its brand existence at a retail or distribution outlet.

. Making further brand perception to support its core products or services.

. Providing and increasing its core values through various links with the licensed products/service or category.

. Coming into new markets (consumer or geographical) which were unfeasible with its own strengths.

. Making new revenue flows, often with little involvement or additional financial resources

The advantage of licensing for licensees

The main advantage for a licensee (particularly manufacturer or retailer) is the capability to considerably upsurge consumer interest in and sales of its products or services.
Licensing can achieve this by:

. Shifting the values and consumer favour towards the licensed product or service.

. Providing added value and differentiation in the competitive market.

. Offering additional marketing support or speed from the core property’s activity given by the licensor.

. Attracting new target markets who have not been paid attention in a licensee’s product or service.

. Providing credibility for shifting into new market sectors through product extension.

. Attaining additional retail space and favor.

Licensing: The increasing scenario worldwide

Reviewing the year-after-year worldwide retail sales from 2000 to 2004, the licensing business this year has shown an increase. In general, 2004 anticipated worldwide retail sales of licensed business increased 1.5 per cent to $175.3 billion against 2003 $172.7 billion, with the USA making nearly $110 billion (nearly $5.805 billion in royalties) and Europe $34 billion. In UK, the brand licensing industry is worth approximately

Popular Clothing Brands

Sam Benton asked:

Style and fashion is one of the biggest things people pay attention to these days. Everyone has to wear clothes, but there are those people who take getting dressed in the morning to a whole new level. They don’t get dressed to be dressed, they get dressed to make a statement. Whatever that statement may be, there are tons of different clothing brands that will cater to whatever style you need. What look you decide to go with and how much you want to spend are up to you.

For those who choose a prestige and high profile style, there are certain clothing brands that are classics and will always be popular clothing brands. Those that come to mind are Chanel, Gucci, Dolce & Gabana, Ralph Lauren and Armani. The brand names sell themselves, but these are the styles that people see most of the celebrities wearing. People idolise celebrities, so they will shell out huge amounts of money to be just like them.

Classic brands for the younger age that are the popular clothing brands would be Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Nautica and Lucky Brand. These are a bit high-profile for teenagers (they can get pricey) but they have become a staple for that “all-American” look that so many teenagers are into these days. They started the torn jeans and layered shirt looks that so many people today wear.

Other popular clothing brands that are driven towards the teenagers and young adults are those like Vans, Bench, Skin Industries, MOB Inc, DrunkNmunky, Gas, Hooch, Old Glory, Urbanstone, DC and other skater and motocross related styles. They have all kinds of styles, but tend to be more moderately priced and are therefore more appealing, making them popular with those who want to look good but not break the bank.

New clothing lines are constantly coming and going but only a few of them seem to stay course. The main fashion staples are already out there and people tend to stay true to them. It’s usually the classics that will always be the most popular brands (whether they be the high end brands or not). If they weren’t the popular brands then they wouldn’t be the classics now would they?

Happy and Shopping.

Maternity Wear – What Style Will Suit Me?

Leisa Sanderson asked:

The following article will give you some insight into how maternity styles work and to help you decide what styles will best suit your needs.

The sizing of maternity wear is fairly straight forward; it is generally the same size as pre-pregnancy clothing. So if you were a size 14 prior to falling pregnant then this is the size you should choose. Of course as with all things there are exceptions to the rules.

1. If you are pregnant with multiples then it is advised that you go up a size.

2. If you have a tendency in your non-pregnant life to fluctuate between sizes then it would also be advisable to go up a size for later in your pregnancy.

Various styles are on offer in skirts, pants and shorts that cover a wide range of preferences, you will see commonly used terms to describe maternity styles which are as follows:

Under tummy – Obviously as the name suggest this style sits just under your tummy, normally recommended for 2-7 months although many wear them to term with comfort.

Advantages – Your bump can grow with out any restriction, no pressure to be felt on your stomach which can upset some women later in pregnancy.

Disadvantage – No feeling of support, some women feel they need the extra support in front as their tummy expands.

Mid and Over tummy – These styles sit either midway over your abdomen or completely over it. These styles are generally recommended for 2-9 months. There are 3 different designs to this type.

1. Elastic waist – has an elastic waist with extra material in the front.

Advantages – expands naturally as your belly does.

Disadvantages – extra material in front can look a ‘little baggy’ in early pregnancy (although you can spread it out along the elastic).

2. Belly Panel – has a front panel that is made from stretchable fabric.

Advantages – expands naturally as your belly does, tends to give more feeling of support right throughout your pregnancy than your elastic waist style.

Disadvantages – Panel may remain stretched after pregnancy; make sure you buy ones made of high quality.

3. Adjustable elastic – Have adjustable elastic usually on either side and made of stretch material.

Advantages – You select how firm you want this style to sit, also helps post pregnancy as you can return them to the original size. Gives a feeling of support.

Disadvantages – None.

Fold over top – Fold over top is made from stretch material, it gives you the choice of where you want the waist to sit, you can wear them folded down early in your pregnancy and unfold them as your bump grows. These are one of the most popular styles purchased through our store. Recommended for 2-9 months.

Advantages – Gives you extra feeling of support if you feel you need it or you can leave them folded the choice is yours.

Disadvantages – None, although cheap brands may lose some elasticity following pregnancy.

The information supplied in this article is a guide only, individual manufacturers may vary in sizing and styles, please check with your supplier prior to purchase.
